KSK70 Diaries - Part 1*
*This is a series of articles consisting of assessments by Gülfer Kırbaş, who attended the 70th meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on behalf of ÇemberDE.

The message of the sessions I attended on the first day of CSW70 was clear:
Women's rights only gain meaning when they exist in legal texts, but when they become a reality in life.
Although the topics discussed today ranged from justice and education to digital security, body rights, and women's lives in war and crisis situations, they all converged on a common point:
Justice cannot be selective.
When the rights of women and girls are violated anywhere in the world, it is not just a matter for that country.
As Malala said:
Humanity cannot be defended in one place and ignored in another.
The following topics were particularly highlighted in the sessions:
The systematic elimination of girls' right to education in Afghanistan.
The invisible burdens of women in war and crisis
The risks posed by digital violence and new technologies like deepfakes.
The importance of safe havens and international solidarity networks.
The struggle for abortion and reproductive rights continues in many parts of the world.
Digital safe spaces developed to reach girls in crisis regions.
But perhaps the most powerful message was this:
Talking alone is not enough.
Sympathy isn't enough.
Accountability and concrete action are needed.
When women's voices are heard, it's not just women who are empowered;
Societies become more just, more inclusive, and more resilient.
This first day of CSW70 reminded me once again:
Solidarity knows no boundaries.
And the feminist struggle is interconnected, no matter where in the world it takes place.
